Responsibilities

• BOM creation & management
• Utilize Solid Edge for 3D design of new mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and/or pneumatic assemblies
• Drafting and Modeling of new and existing parts and assemblies using 3D modeling software
• Familiarity with FEA and or other engineering positions within the company that can perform this analysis
• Ability to perform quick and simple paper calculations to arrive at an acceptable/not acceptable conclusion related to our application
• Familiarity with 2D design (AutoCAD)
• Create part numbers according to a pre-determined numbering scheme
• Assign part numbers to drawings, models, and inventory tracking software
• Review build sheets for accuracy and buildability and create a chassis layout
• Special ordering of PTO related to fitment issues or limitation to hp/torque
• Utilize existing spreadsheets and calculations to establish numbers for our air permit requirements related to VOC’s emitted by the paint department and dust collector
• Contribute to the ERP in a manufacturing environment conversion.
• Utilize ERP software and Excel spreadsheets to update monthly costing for manufactured products
• Use ERP Software for design and approval
• Design weld fixtures for production. Aid in the setup of new weld fixtures within robotic welders
• Manages a staff of 4
• Work closely with production, QA/QC, and procurement teams, taking an active role in resolving issues in production

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering

Preferred Experience

• Experience in the design/build of truck mounted refuse equipment and/or truck mounted loaders is required
• Previous design of hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic circuits
• ERP experience in a manufacturing process for production
• Previous design of hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic circuits
• 10 Years in a manufacturing environment
• 10 Years of 3D design with Solid Edge software
• Microsoft Office proficiency
• Travel less than 20%
