Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and technical leadership for Licensing & Finance Engineering teams.
- Drive the overall vision, delivery and technical implementation for projects on roadmap.
- Develop a high-performance culture that attracts, retains and builds top talent in an ever-changing technical environment.
- Improvise and solidify on Agile processes used by the teams for faster Time to Market.
- Continuously improve software engineering practices and security posture of applications.
- Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions.
- Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community.
- Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.
- Provide continuous career path development for those on your engineering teams, making certain that high-level vision and strategy is established while ensuring that the day-to-day needs of each team are met.
- Continuously update the team structure based on evolving needs of the business.
- Forecasting, budgeting and planning infrastructure and headcount.
- Maintain strong relationships with peer functions: product management, stakeholders, program management, customer success and licensing.
- Partner with talent acquisition and actively engage in the hiring process to recruit and develop top engineering talent.
- Design and continuously improve our engineering delivery process.
- Effectively communicate the state of the delivery pipeline to all relevant parties.
Key Technologies
- Salesforce, Apex transactions, Apex/trigger code, declarative programming, AWS (EC2, S3, AppFLOW, Lambda, RDS, SQS), Java, Integration systems (e.g., Boomi), ERP systems (SAP, Oracle Financials, Great Plains or similar), Business Objects, Database (SQL Server, Oracle, RDS), Windows development platforms (.NET).
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience building enterprise grade products.
- 7+ years of experience in a leadership role managing and leading medium-to-large engineering teams.
- Passion for designing teams and developing people, coupled with excellent conflict management and resolution skills.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with an ability to influence.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science) Master’s Degree desirable.
- Ability to break down a strategic roadmap into a series of wins.
- Hands-on experience driving Salesforce implementations using technologies such as APEX and declarative programming.
- Good understanding of secure RESTful and SOAP-based web services.
- Data management and analytical experience for large volume transactions and reporting.
- Experience with Java technologies.
- Experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, with a proven track record of leading multiple teams to transform the efforts of an engineering organization.
- Experience with AWS Products and services such as EC2, S3, AppFLOW, Lambda, RDS, SQS.
- Expert in an agile environment and running agile through a modern platform: ideally Jira or another similar agile system of record like Rally or Version One.
- AWS, Azure, GCP, SFDC certifications desirable.
