The Role

We are looking for a VP of Engineering to lead our technical team through a critical growth phase. This is primarily a management role, focusing on scaling the team from 10 to 100 people, setting up team structures, hiring, and implementing best practices for performance reviews and engineering excellence.

What You’ll Do

• Build and scale a world-class engineering team, hiring and structuring it for high performance.
• Develop and implement processes for engineering efficiency, quality, and collaboration.
• Work closely with the leadership team to align technology strategy with business objectives.
• Establish performance review systems for teams and individuals.
• Ensure the team operates efficiently in a fast-paced startup environment.
• While this is not a hands-on coding role, familiarity with the codebase and occasional PRs will be expected.

Who You Are

• **Experienced Leader** : Proven track record in a VP of Engineering or similar role, having scaled teams from 10 to 100+ engineers.
• **Tech-Driven** : Strong technical background, ideally experienced with Java and/or Node.js.
• **Startup & Growth Expertise**: Previous experience at a YC Startup, FAANG company, Stanford/MIT-affiliated company, or similar high-growth tech environment.
• **Structured & Process-Oriented**: Highly organized, logical, and efficient in setting up scalable processes.
• **People-Centric** : Strong hiring, mentoring, and leadership abilities, with an emphasis on building a high-performing team.
• **Cultural Fit** : Open to taking an MBTI test as part of the evaluation process to ensure team alignment.
• **Time Zone Flexibility** : Willing to work Pacific Time (PST) hours if located outside North or South America.
