The growth potential of our patented product means we are now looking for Engineering Manager to support Pavegen LIVE, someone who has a passion for the business and who can inspire all of those who work around them. In all of our key global markets, from Germany with Google to New York with Mercedes and Australia with Kia Motors. The company is led by our inspirational founder, who originally built this technology at Loughborough University, and we have received investment from the two richest men in the UK, over 2,000 high net worth investors as well as a number of VC and PE funds. Our Pavegen flooring technology can be installed on both a permanent and tactical basis meaning we engage with organisations and communities far and wide. These range from building football pitches in favelas, gamifying audience experiences major sporting events, marketing installations in prestigious retail outlets and many brand activations in iconic global locations. The breadth of our reach means that this candidate will rub shoulders with senior executives across all industries including celebrities, and other very influential figures in the public eye. We have worked with Will.i.am, Akon, Raffa Nadal and many others! Our PR strategy is second to none, so this kind of exposure and engagement will only continue to evolve and progress. This ensures the experiential arm of our business will continue to grow rapidly and that our experiential team can cope with these demands. Over the last 18 months we have expanded globally, working with Shell in Brazil and Nigeria, Siemens in the UK, Samsung in South Africa, Coca-Cola in Italy and went coast to coast across the USA with Sunglass Hut. All these projects attracted significant global media attention and public interest, leading to further projects in the pipeline and 2016/17 sees new exciting challenges for the team based in our London Headquarters.

Role Overview

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Engineering Manager to support our engineering department. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the business and enjoy working as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the technical output of the engineering team in the development of new products, sales project solutions, and new functionality
Manage and optimise department task and project delivery, assigning tasks to engineering and technical personnel for efficient operation
Design, implement, and refine robust product development, testing, and manufacturing processes and oversee Quality Management systems implementation that will lead to ISO9001 accreditation
Take responsibility for the creation and implementation of all Health and Safety requirements for safe operations inside Pavegen facilities, monitoring compliance and continual improvement through appropriate metrics
In conjunction with the Sales team, interface directly with customers to establish clear technical requirements for key sales projects and budgetary costings for technical solutions.
Participate in strategic decisions relating to investment in new technologies, securing appropriate in-house and external resources to deliver innovative new product functionality.
Recruit, build and develop a high-performing team, identifying the need for training and talent development and providing opportunity for success within the team and consequent growth opportunities for the business

Skills and Experience

5 years’ experience as an Engineering Manager or similar role in a product manufacturing company
Technical analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems
Communication skills for developing staff and engaging with other business functions
Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and prevent errors which can result in major problems
Degree level qualification in an engineering related discipline
