The Role

You will guide the performance and careers of your engineers while managing the team’s execution of our roadmap, ensuring clear communication and collaboration with the product team and stakeholders to shape and deliver value in alignment with our business goals. In addition, you will provide technical direction, support the team with technical expertise, and contribute hands-on when needed. While your primary focus is leadership, you should be comfortable diving into code, reviewing designs, and unblocking engineers to drive execution. You may be asked to own the delivery of strategic efforts, balancing hands-on execution with delegation to maximize efficiency and support team growth. You will also contribute to shaping our Engineering organization’s evolution, working alongside other Engineering Leaders owning and improving various aspects of what it means to be an effective Engineering organization at Carrot.

Minimum Qualifications

• You have 2+ years of experience in an engineering management capacity
• You have 2+ years of experience in a Senior-level Engineer IC capacity
• You thrive in leading through complexity and ambiguity, adapting to emerging challenges and business demands, while thoughtfully but pragmatically considering tradeoffs to make informed decisions.
• You understand that there is not a one-size-fits-all decision engine for how we build Carrot’s product. A blank piece of paper doesn’t scare you, and you are excited to contribute to products from the ground up.
• You are comfortable interfacing across an organization, collaborating closely with various functions, and influencing the direction of solutions to meet goals.
• You build strong relationships and trust among your team and cross-functionally to enable higher impact of the work you are doing together.
• You understand that varying personalities and backgrounds will represent engineering competencies and principles in different ways.
• You celebrate your team, and you find the time to provide feedback to your teammates, understanding the value of feedback.

Compensation

Carrot offers a holistic Total Rewards package designed to support our employees in all aspects of their life inside and outside of work, including health and wellness benefits, retirement savings plans, short- and long-term incentives, parental leave, family-forming assistance, and a competitive compensation package. The starting base salary for this position will range from $180,000-$200,000. Actual compensation may vary from posted base salary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.
