As the software development manager, you will have technical ownership of privacy data solutions. You'll lead a talented and nimble team of engineers to create innovative ways to protect our customer’s privacy. Responsibilities include direct management of engineers, process and quality of service improvements, strategic planning, project management for software within the team, and management of resources across teams. Successful candidates will be strong leaders who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery. We are looking for a leader that thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the data privacy space, and will help us protect our customer’s trust. Leading this team requires creative engineering balanced with high quality and customer focus. Your solutions will apply to all of Amazon’s consumer and digital businesses including but not limited to Amazon.com, Alexa, Kindle, Amazon Go, Prime Video and more.

Basic Qualifications: - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
- Experience managing engineers
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams
- Experience in engineering Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
