As a leader, you will provide both strategic and tactical oversight to build the features and functionality required to have the best in class offering for customers. This leader will create mechanisms to drive efficiency for customers. This leader will invent new ways to deliver value in enhancing payment experience for customers, while leveraging the scale and innovation of technology.

Key job responsibilities

As an SDM, you will set the long-term technical vision for your team, influence the tech roadmap, and drive incremental improvements in architecture optimization. You will tackle complex challenges that require both technical acumen and strong stakeholder communication. Your leadership will empower engineers to deliver impactful solutions, grow in their careers, and thrive in a high-trust, high-performance environment.

A day in the life

  • Work with senior leaders in payment products to define product strategy and roadmap
  • Lead high-quality execution of software products against project plans and delivery commitments; architect and develop the best technical designs for extensibility, reliability, and scalability
  • Build and develop a high performance software development organization by hiring, mentoring and growing a best-in-class team
  • Own all operational metrics and support

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 7+ years of engineering experience
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
