We have an exciting opportunity with the Regulatory Intelligence, Safety, and Compliance (RISC) engineering team, to architect and build Agentic AI solutions to automate the end-to-end workflows on control launches.
As a Software Development Manager, you will work with your team of highly skilled software, data, and ML engineers to invent, design, build and manage highly scalable AI-empowered systems that provide availability, scalability, and latency guarantees. You will work with your internal customers to balance customer requirements with team requirements and help your team and business evolve, by working with machine learning models and large data sets. You will be using the latest Agentic AI solutions, AWS and industry technologies to deliver a one-stop zero-touch control launch system for Amazon, keeping our customers safe and products compliant, building the software creating the world’s most trustworthy data set on everything companies and customers need to know related to the safety and compliance of products and chains.

To succeed in this role, you will have a proven track record of shipping complex software solutions through an agile methodology. You will have the ability to dive deep into the understanding of problems in order to help your team make the right technical decisions for the product and the business. You will have a proven track record of developing the career of your direct reports and setting a high bar for performance. You will also be a strong communicator and will have proven abilities in managing through ambiguous situations.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage your group into a highly performing engineering organization.
- Define and drive your long-term product strategy based on your relationships with key customers and technology partners.
- Architect and deliver Amazon's next-generation risk identification and remediation technologies to help solve safety risk challenges at scale.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
