This position leads the engineering department and is responsible for all of the maintenance, repair, and operation of equipment and systems of the property.

Responsibilities

  • Manage resort’s Engineering Department, including hiring and maintaining effective workforce appropriate for upscale resort;
  • Using Microsoft Excel and online work order systems (including HotSOS, HRIS, payroll systems, and BirchStreet Purchase order system), establish preventative maintenance programs for all equipment, systems, guestrooms and public areas, developing effective safety protocols, and coordinating and implementing hospitality capital improvement projects and renovations;
  • Maintain and repair property public areas, guestrooms, electrical outlets, grounds and physical plant;
  • Serve as project manager of property development projects (including electrical and mechanical engineering projects);
  • Manage and maintain large pools and waterpark features; establish, maintain, and manage department budgets and monthly forecasts, manage outside contracts, distribute work orders and manage workflow within department; oversee upkeep, repair, and renovation of resort;
  • Oversee and manage purchasing practices and inventory controls;
  • Apply electrical and mechanical engineering processes to effectively problem-solve and troubleshoot hotel guests and team member issues;
  • Enforce Hotel and Company policies and procedures;
  • Hire, train, and discipline direct report employees;
  • Manage and process employee payroll using payroll software;
  • Oversee and enforce compliance with federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations governing safety and engineering procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field plus 5 years of progressive experience in facilities or property management.
  • Must have 5 years of experience in the following:
  • Coordinating and managing hospitality capital improvement projects, renovations, and preventative maintenance/repair of property;
  • Hiring, training, disciplining, and managing direct report employees in property maintenance and repair;
  • Online work order systems (i.e. HotSOS, HRIS), payroll systems (such as UKG Pro and Dimensions), and Purchase order systems (such as BirchStreet);
  • Developing and maintaining budgets and accurate forecasting.
  • Must have 3 years of experience in the following:
  • Managing and maintaining pools and waterpark features.
