Job Overview

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Software Manager to lead the Modeling team in the Networking organization. In this role, you will be responsible for improving and scaling Networking application that consumes Network Engineer's intent and produces a stateful representation of physical network that will be used to build, expand and operate regions to physically create datacenters. You will lead a high-caliber team, ensuring the achievement of key objectives through exemplary leadership, talent development, and resource optimization. This position demands a seasoned professional who embodies OCI values and can navigate complex challenges to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Leadership Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager in OCI, you will provide leadership to a dedicated team tasked with overseeing the modeling and layout configurations within OCI. Your role will involve ensuring that the team's objectives are consistently aligned with the broader organizational goals, maintaining a strategic focus on long-term stability and scalability, support for new product intake. By fostering a high-performance culture, you will mentor and develop team members, creating an environment that encourages continuous learning and professional growth.

Talent Development

In addition to your leadership duties, you will play a pivotal role in talent development within the team. You will lead by example in identifying and nurturing talent, engaging in regular career development discussions, and offering strategic guidance to support the professional growth of each team member. Your commitment to promoting excellence will ensure that team members have access to opportunities for advancement, while your advocacy for OCI values will instill a sense of purpose and commitment throughout the team.

Performance Management

In terms of performance management, you will establish clear, measurable goals for both individual team members and the broader team, ensuring that these objectives are aligned with OCI's strategy. You will implement robust processes to monitor progress, assess performance, and maintain accountability at all levels. Your results-oriented approach will focus on delivering tangible outcomes that contribute to the success of OCI’s critical infrastructure initiatives.

Qualifications

  • A BS or MS degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in people management, with a proven track record in managing large-scale critical service.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cloud engineering, networking, and distributed systems
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and recruit very strong engineering talent
  • Sustainably scale systems through tooling and automation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences including senior leadership
  • Results driven; thrives in a development environment that is agile, collaborative, and in start-up mode, even when faced with ambiguity and competing priorities
