Our client is a Portuguese company focused on the development of technological products and consequent implementation in international projects at the service of governments and society in general and is recruiting a Software Development Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development team in analysis, design, software development and testing;
  • Manage all activities of the software development team and set objectives for each team member, in order to ensure the execution of the project according to the plan;
  • Search, develop and implement the best, simplest and most robust solutions for the needs of customers and stakeholders;
  • Contribute to the definition of the project scope, schedules and resource allocation;
  • Provide guidance to the team and ensure that they comply with the company's existing development standards;
  • Ensure adherence to software development methodologies and best practices;
  • Ensure the implementation of software products that meet quality and performance requirements;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather project requirements;
  • Carrying out product analysis and specification activities;
  • Hold regular meetings with the CTO and product owner to determine the requirements and clarify the results of tests carried out on the technological platforms;
  • Supervise all aspects of the software development cycle and infrastructures necessary for the provision of the products and services developed;
  • Conducting performance evaluations and discussions on career development;
  • Identify training and skills development needs for the team;
  • Continuous improvement of products;
  • Actively collaborate with the CTO and other software development managers in anticipating needs and planning means and requirements for the proper functioning of the technical teams in which they have coordination responsibility;
  • Continuous participation in the improvement of internal processes, teamwork and dependencies of other areas.
  • Graduated in computer engineering, computer science or similar;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience and at least 2 years of experience in the role of software development manager;
  • Proven experience of participating in software development projects;
  • High-level analytical skills;
  • Complex problem-solving skills;
  • Focus on customer satisfaction;
  • Ability to coordinate activities in a project context;
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and multi-cultural environment;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • Motivated to actively learn and research new working methods and new technologies;
  • Without egos and committed to the success of the team and company (be kind and ego-free).
