We are seeking a seasoned and driven Senior Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing software engineering team at a cutting-edge electric vehicle manufacturer. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering scalable, high-reliability cloud microservices that power key vehicle features, including electric charging services. We’re looking for a proven leader with a strong technical foundation, exceptional people-management skills, and a deep sense of ownership. You must have a track record of successfully guiding technical teams through complex challenges. Experience in microservices architecture and EV charging services is a plus—but what matters most is your ability to learn quickly, think strategically, and lead with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of software engineers building cloud-based microservices that integrate with electric vehicle systems.
- Drive technical vision, architecture, and execution strategy in alignment with product and business goals.
- Partner closely with Product Management, Hardware Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver features that delight customers.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement.
- Own end-to-end software delivery lifecycle: planning, development, testing, deployment, operations, and incident response.
- Ensure software meets high standards for performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and career development support to engineering team members.
- Lead design reviews, code reviews, and technical deep-dives.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear plans and communications for stakeholders and executives.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing high-performing engineering teams.
- Proven experience leading the design and delivery of large-scale distributed systems or cloud-native applications.
- Deep understanding of modern software development practices, including CI/CD, DevOps, monitoring, and operational excellence.
- Strong technical acumen in backend engineering; hands-on experience with one or more languages such as Java, Go, Python, or Node.js.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electric vehicle systems, EV charging infrastructure, or automotive cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Knowledge of microservice communication patterns (e.g., gRPC, REST, event streaming).
- Experience building systems that interact with IoT devices, embedded systems, or real-time data pipelines.

Salary Range
The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
Base Pay Range (Annual): $216,800 — $317,900 USD
