About the Role
Como is looking for an experienced and driven Director of Engineering to lead multiple engineering teams and play a critical role in shaping the technology and culture of our growing R&D organization. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role where you’ll be responsible for people, process, and technical excellence across your teams.
What You’ll Do
Lead, mentor, and grow several cross-functional engineering teams.
Partner with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to define and deliver technical roadmaps and business outcomes.
Set and maintain high engineering standards for quality, performance, and scalability.
Drive operational excellence, including agile processes, on-call reliability, SDLC metrics, and technical debt management.
Support hiring, onboarding, and retention of top engineering talent.
Champion a positive engineering culture rooted in ownership, transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Own the technical and organizational evolution as Como scales its products and infrastructure.
What We’re Looking For
8+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in engineering leadership roles.
Experience managing multiple teams or engineering managers in a high-growth SaaS environment.
Strong technical background – ideally in modern backend technologies, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and system design.
Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
Track record of building high-performing teams and delivering business-critical products.
Experience working in Kubernetes-based environments – a plus.
Bonus Points For
Experience in the retail, payments, or customer engagement space.
Experience building and scaling cloud-based SaaS platforms in a modern infrastructure environment
