Role: Senior Manager - Software Engineering

This position leads business analysts and developers to deliver strategic IT systems and acts as a technical expert for systems within Treasury. Performs at the highest level of service in support of system development, operations, performance, and usage. Develops advanced solutions to address business needs including providing application support. Serves as a resource to wider business units or associates and provides a leadership role. This role will interface with business, other application development teams within IT as well as various shared services organizations and infrastructure areas. Resource will be part of Treasury IT, supporting continued build out of investments, capital markets and treasury risk management areas at the First Citizens Bank.
What you will bring
Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of experience in Systems Design, Development and Support across any Finance Domain. Treasury experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Highly numerate with strong analytical and problem solving, influencing and change management skills. Ability to think out of the box and make judgement calls.

- Ability to motivate, manage and drive the teams towards meeting common performance objectives.
- Extensive stakeholder management experience and ability to influence people.
- Experience with SDLC and driving agile teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; history of active engagement business partners and stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills with the demonstrated ability to multitask and manage multiple small and large projects in a cross-functional environment.
- Financial industry experience including functional knowledge of financial instruments like derivatives (Interest rate, FX etc.), equities, fixed income products etc.
- Experience leading the implementation of complex projects and initiatives impacting one or more lines of business in a large financial institution.
- Good understanding of Microsoft SQL Server & SSIS packages or any ETL tool.
- Hands on experience in Java, Spring Boot, OpenShift, Splunk, Microservices, Python, SQL, SSIS, Apache kafka, putty, UNIX.
- Experience with any Liquidity calculations for regulatory reporting metrics (LCR, NSFR, 6G/2052a etc) or experience with the implementation of internal liquidity stress models is a plus.
- Experience with any of the following is a plus: Quantum, Swift, Aladdin, Clearwater, Chatham Financials, Pinnacle, QRM.
- Experience developing cloud native applications on any cloud provider is a plus.
Once here you will
- Motivate, manage, and drive the delivery team towards meeting Treasury business objectives.
- Work with global technology teams across different time zones (primarily US) to deliver timely business value.
- Drive the technical solution delivery for treasury investment operations (covering Repo, Investments, Cash, Debt, Derivatives and Liquidity Management), including responsibility for managing the end-to-end solution delivery lifecycle (estimating, resourcing, design/build/test sprints) that produces high-quality custom solutions.
- Ensure consistency in service delivery by being single point of contact for all Treasury Investment Operations related interactions.
- Provide technical and functional leadership to the delivery teams.
- Drive automation and efficiency initiatives.
- Ensure all delivery items (projects/products) in the area are moving at an efficient pace to deliver value.
- Manage budget adherence and operational efficiency.
- Monitor vendor relationships and contract management.
- Provide operational and break/fix support management to stakeholder organizations, as necessary.
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, philosophy, and culture of the organization.
