Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader for the role of Director of Process Engineering at our New Berlin, NY site. This role will lead a team of process engineers responsible for increasing process efficiencies while improving production costs, yields, quality, and safety. As well as provide process expertise for Capital projects for installation of new equipment and improvements to the existing process operations. This role requires a deep understanding of dairy processing unit operations, equipment, dairy manufacturing technologies, etc. Experience in both design as well as operational support is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process Design and Development: Lead a team of process engineers responsible for ongoing operations as well as designing the dairy processing operations for new projects.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading a high performing process engineering team.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Capital project managers, Operations, Quality, etc to ensure seamless integration of process engineering solutions.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with process engineering projects, ensuring safety and reliability.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of process designs, specifications, and project progress.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Travel: Occasional travel to equipment vendors and other Chobani sites

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in process engineering. Experience in hygienic process design, specific experience with cultured dairy products and aseptic processing is a plus. Understanding of PLC and logic controls for manufacturing equipment is preferred
  • Leadership: Minimum of 5 years leading a team of process engineers.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in process simulation software, CAD tools, and other relevant engineering applications.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to technical challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team management, mentorship, and conflict resolution.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Compensation Range: $144,000.00 - $216,000.00, plus bonus.
