Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a talented, experienced Software Engineering Manager to join our team in Fort Walton Beach, FL. The selected candidate will provide technical leadership and guidance for software modernization and development activities.
This position is customer facing and will provide Software Project Management reporting, documentation, and updates to Program Management.
Establish required management systems and provide leadership to assure the effective performance of work, close monitoring of cost and schedule, and take timely and effective corrective action.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include developing complex software architecture and designs on projects. This role will be leading the modernization and evaluation of complex software designs to identify flaws.
Developing complex Radar software architecture and designs on projects.
Establish systems and software development processes and procedures within assigned product scope.
Establish software-specific peer review procedures and perform reviews of related documents and drawings.
Evolve processes to utilize the most effective new techniques as they become available, assuring the use of methodologies which minimize both design cost and product cost.
Provide, directly or indirectly, top level technical leadership for the assigned design discipline(s) including selection and exploitation of promising new technologies, long-term goals, etc.
Ensure effective communication between assigned engineers and all other participants in the design process.
Works closely with the Program Management and Business Development organizations to identify, define, and capture program opportunities consistent with the LOB’s strategic objectives.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college / university in a related discipline with a minimum 8 years of experience, including supervision/management experience.
Must have experience managing multiple software projects simultaneously.
Requires extensive background in:
C++
Python
Hardware Integration
Cloud
DevSecOps
Networking
GIT
Experience performing software testing, validation, and verification activities
Demonstrated ability to develop, lead, and motivate technical teams


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Working knowledge of Radar systems and fundamentals
Previous experience in project leadership role or functional management
Experience with software and systems engineering processes, methodologies, and tools


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $106654 - $181311

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
